Fort Pickens and Fort Barrancas have been guarding Pensacola Bay for hundreds of years. In addition to the wars Fort Barrancas has been in commission for, Fort Pickens also saw action during World War I and II. It is now the home of United States Park Rangers who maintain it as one of the country's National Parks.
